Joseph S. Auerbach, Esq.,
No. 3 Broad St.,
New York.
May 25, 1892.
Dear Mr. Auerbach,-
Your letter of 24th instant in regard to the Cheever mine is at hand. I note what you say in regard to Mr. Cheever having had a magnetic survey made of the property. I do not care about any survey which may have been made of the mine. It is probably like most other surveys-no good. I desire to make my own survey, perfectly independent of everybody, and you will be good enough to obtain for me permission to send my experts to the ground for the purpose of surveying it, that would suit me best. It will not be necessary for any one to accompany my men. After the survey has been made I will then be willing to talk business.
Yours very truly,
Thomas A. Edison
