Dear Sir:-
Mr. Edison received from your Company a circular letter under date June 10th, enclosing tables of the capacity and economy of a vertical engine especially designed for electric railway, lighting and power service, built by the Lake Eric Engineering Works of Buffalo, N.Y., and in connection therewith he was instructed me to inform you that he will require next summer three engines of 600 HP each, and three engines of 150 HP each, all triple expansion, 150 pounds of steam. Mr. Edison would like you to quote roughly the prices at which your Company could supply these engines.
Yours very truly,
