Oct. 3, 1893. Messrs. Haldeman, Grubb & Co., Chickies, Pa. Dear Sirs:- I have your letter of inquiry concerning my telegram to you of 27th ultimo. The telegram should have read "Keeping the stuff at one and a quarter inch, but smaller we cannot raise the assay more than four units. This would hardly pay." The only solution of the problem is that you throw out the bad pieces of the mine to a greater extent than you do now, or else you will have to put up a large plant for crushing and bricking. We have the results of all the experiments here, if you want to see them. Yours truly, Thomas A. Edison M.
