March 15, 1894,
G. D. James, Esq.,
Bank Building, Colorado Springs, Colo.
Dear Sir:--
I have received your letter of 7th inst. in regard to my Patent No. 466,460 covering a process of electrolytic decomposition. I have just read this Patent and find that it is of a very commercial character. I will be ready at any time to grant to responsible parties engaged in actual business and requiring the patent the right to work it under a royalty arrangement, so moderate as not to be a burden on the enterprise.
I remember a small nickel vessel in which we tried some experiments in connection with this patent, but think it used up long ago. There will be no trouble in carrying out the invention. In fact I suspect some of the aluminum people already use it.
Yours very truly,
Thomas A Edison
