April 15th 1895 James F Connelly Esq Collector Newark N.J. Dear Sir: - I herewith enclose my Income Tax return for the year of 1894. I have eliminated the sum of $208,026.90/100 which was lost in 1894 because [objection to?] by your Deputy in my first return. The law plainly states that this loss can be deducted.
