May 21, 1895. H. B. Auchincloss Esq., Box 966, Orange, N.J. Dear Sir :- In reply to your favor of the 13th inst., I beg to advise you that the Edison Phonograph Works did very well and if on the Receiver’s sale I get hold of the phonograph, I shall be able to rapidly liquidate the Works’ indebtedness. They owe nothing except to me and they made and paid to me last year ending Feb. 1895, $49,000. This was net. Yours truly, Thos A Edison
