Thos. Dolan, Esq.,
C/o Thos. Dolan & Co.,
Philadelphia, Penna.
Dear Mr. Dolan:
I have yours of the 9th, and in reply would say that we are ready and well equipped to fill any order for Phonographs sent to the Works. A representative of the proposed German Company came to see me in connection with the negotiations pending with the United Company. I ascertained that the proposed company would be composed principally of the members of a German Chocolate firm who are interested principally in Penny-in-the-slot devices, such as are found in Railroad Stations, etc. It is my opinion that once they take up the manufacture in Germany it will not be advantageous to the Phonograph business.
Yours very truly,
Thos A Edison
