June 23, 1896. R. B. Eastman, Esq., 26 Court St., Brooklyn, N. Y. Dear Sir: Your favor of the 19th is at hand, and in reply I would say that if you will communicate with the National Phonograph Co., Orange, N. J., you can obtain full information regarding the Edison Phonograph, they being the selling agents for same. If you will advise them as to the number of machines that you desire they can then give you prices. The information you have received, that Phonographs are not being built, is entirely erroneous, as they are being manufactured at the Edison Phonograph Works right along, and the Companies handling same would not of course sell them unless they were prepared to defend all suits that might be brought by the Graphophone Co. or any others. Yours very truly, Thos. A. Edison R[andolph]
