Nov 12th 1896 Messrs Merck and Coy- University Place New York. Dear Sirs:- The sample next to the last one fluoresced fairly well. The last sample received does not fluoresce at all, it is crystalized in the wrong system, the trick is to make it by fusion in the regular way but get the Crystals clear, then it will be sensitive. One party here has found out how to do it but his prices are very high, yet he is selling large quantities. I think your people over in Germany better hire a Chemist. Yours truly Thos. A.
