April 19/98 Cary T. Hutchinson Esq Dear Sir _ Samples received the tailings are quite rich The trouble is due probably to the fact that they fear to do fine crushing on account of shines[?]. There would be no trouble to build a mill to crush 3000 tons per day and leave less than ¼ of what is now in the tails, and without water, and all the complicated machinery of the [bid?] [German?] [Machinery?] of the 16th century. Yours Thos A. Edison
