Friend Villard:-

In reply to your favor of the 23rd inst, I shall do nothing about exploiting [heater?] without your advice. In meantime I am proceeding to test the parts and change the form to get it into good commercial shape. Today for instance I am making model #2 which improves #1, about the 4th model I shall probably reach a good instrument and then shall make 50 and set them up on test to obtain data for Catalogueing purpose.

Yours truly
Thos. A. Edison
