Jan 25th 9 [W.S.?] De Camp Esq 35 Mt [illegible] Park West New York Dear Sir:- In reply to your favor of the 21st inst, I beg to state that I am at my laboratory every day. Yours truly Thos. A. Edison R Jany 25th 9. Henry Villard Esq. 24 Broad Street New York Friend Villard:- In reply to your favor of the 23rd inst I shall do nothing about exploiting [illegible] without your advice. In meantime I am proceeding to test the parts and change the form to get it into good commercial shape. Today for instance I am making mill #2 which improves #1, about the 4th month until I shall probably make a good instrument and then shall make 50 and set them up to obtain data for cataloging purpose.
