Dear Sir:
In reply to your favor of the 2nd inst., I beg to state that the method suggested by Rand people using air, is all right it is used in thousands of places; it's called the Pohl System. Send up to Havermeyer Building to Ingersoll Sergeant Drill CO. and get their catalogue of Pohl Air Lift for pumping that will give you all the points. You can’t use steam the water would condense it. I could get you a mining Superintendent or rather foreman, $2.50 per day. He would understand mining rock drills etc. I think I could get you our old Chief Engineer, who could attend to machinery air Compressors etc. He has been around mines all his life. You might get him for $3.50 to $4.00 per day.
Yours truly,
Thos A. Edison
