June 5th, 1899 Edison M. Douglas Esq President, German National Bank Newark N.J. Dear Sir:- Will you kindly purchase for me the following Bonds. [Ten.?] Four percent Bonds of the Union Pacific R.R. Co per value one thousand dollars [illegible] at 100% to be registered in name of Mrs. Mary V. Miller Akron Ohio Eight. Four percent Bonds of the Northern Pacific R.R. Co Prior Lien [illegible] value one thousand dollars cash at 106 ¼ to be registered in the name of Mary V. Miller Akron Ohio Nine. Thousand one half percent Bonds of the New York Central and Hudson’s Rain Lake Shore Collateral Bonds at 102 ½ per vale one thousand dollars [illegible]. To be registered in the name of Miss Mary V. Miller Akron Ohio You will notice that I have placed a price on the Bonds but of course I want to get them as much lower as possible.
