June 12th, 1899.
Wm H. Shelmerdine.
President, Edison Portland Cement Co.,
Philadelphia, Pa.
Dear Sir:-
[illegible] communication owing to the fact that I will be unable[?] to attend many of the meetings in Philadelphia, I believe it will be in the best interest f the company to appoint someone [illegible] on the Executive Committee who will be able to devote more time to the active work of the Company. I therefore beg to offer my resignation as a member of that Committee, and to suggest if perfectly agreeable to, the other Directors, that Mr. Crane be elected in my place, he being on the ground and able to give the necessary attention to the work to be done.
Yours very truly,
Wm H. Shelmerdine.
