June 26, 1899. Edward J. Redington, Esq., 42 Crouse Ave., Syracuse, New York. Dear Sir: In reply to your favor of the 17th inst., I beg to say that I should become responsible for Thomas’s debts, there would be no end to it and I will not hold myself responsible. You can say, however, to Mr. Sawyer that I want him to get a judgement for the money due against Tom and put it in hands of New York Sheriff, and if he can not in a reasonable time collect the money, let me know and I will see what I can do for him.
