- Editor's Notes
- "I have been making some tests with a new battery which I think is going to displace the Bunsen cell now used by us. In telling Mr. Johnson of the results which I obtained from three of these new cells, he suggested that I should have six cells sent to you so that you might submit them to a test in your laboratory...I have arranged with Mr. Thompson...who has charge of the battery, to send six cells to you....Of course you understand that is is of vital importance to us to get a good phonplex battery--at present it is the weak spot in our system as the Bunsen cell has to be renwed twice each week."
