"If your wish is to increase your facilities for safety in regard to the running of trains you might be interested in investigating my Phonplex system of Telegraphy, a pamphlet in regard to which I am sending you by this mail. A great deal of delay is caused on Railways through the overcrowding of wires....I am also sending you some letters which we have received in regard to the p ractical operation of Phonoplex telegraphy. This sytem is being universally adopted by all the Railways in the East and South."
