Title
[LM111187], Letter from Arthur Edwin Kennelly to William Dennis Marks, December 4th, 1888
Editor's Notes
4th December 8##Dear Sir##Some experiments of an important nature requiring an alternating current of comparatively high potential are to be carried out here in a demonstrative answer tomorrow Wednesday evening The apparatus we have for the purpose is of a rough and ready nature and its insulation may give way under the strain of publicity. The matter has come up at short notice and it is of sufficient importance to make the inconvenience to you of bringing the matter before your attention less unpardonable. I am informed that you possess several alternating current transformers, for stepping down in potential. We could employ one (the smallest size) for stepping up. An ordinary induction coil will not sever owing to the high resistance of the secondary but if you can spare us a small transformer it will suit beautifully and the bearer <r Bergh will bring it at once. We will return it to you by express next day.##Yours very truly##A.E. Kennelly
