185 Fleet Street

Dear Sir:--
On my return from [illegible] I have been resting for the past week, I find the enclosed letter from Mr. Burns, which kindly returns as soon as you have noted it.
Also learn that Mr. Messrs. Burnup and Furman called here and saw Mr. Edison, while I was absent, and they will probably call on Mr. Burns on their way South, and it is more than probable they will be able to arrange for him to go. I have written Mr. Burns again requested that me make every effort to comply with your wishes.
We started the machinery running in Crusher plant at Edison on Saturday last and it has been running today, and we will run it for several days without putting ore in. The balance of the plant is rapidly approaching completion, and it will not be very long before as will have it in full operation. It has been very difficult to get the necessary material to complete our work, and in fact, we have been compelled to make a great many of our castings so as to get them in time. The delays have been more than annoying and we have not allowed the question of price to interfere where we would get deliveries. Even with all this, it has taken twice as long as it would have done, could we have obtained the materials quickly. The plant, however, will be in fine shape, and we should make a very satisfactory run as soon as we get started.
Mr. Edison joins me in sending kindest regards to you all.
Yours very truly,
