Dear Sir:--
When Mr. John Hammond of South Africa was at the Laboratory one day last week, he told Mr. Edison of some automatic machine for sharpening drill rod, and Mr. Edison failed to ask him by whom the machine was manufactured, and we would be obliged if you can give us this information. [illegible] says that he has used the machine with great success [illegible] believes that it would be a good thing for our Works at Edison.
