September 25th, 1900 Mr. James Ballantine c/o N.J. & P.C. Works Edison, N.J. Dear Sir:- We sent you this afternoon the following telephone message, which now beg to confirm: "The coal, sand and iron ore briquettes are not strong enough to stand transportation. Please make up a new lot containing 110 pounds of binding material per ton and test same on testing machine and send me results of the blows. Please do this at the earliest possible moment as an order for 500 tons awaits the results. Yours very truly, W.S. Mallory
