Dear Sirs:-
On my return here, I have looked up the matter of Baird notes and beg to report as follows:
We received from him five notes of $10,000 each. Note #1 dated February 9th ($10,000) was received July 30th for sixty days and was further renewed on September 28th by two notes of $8,000 and $2,000 each. These are the notes that Baird refused to accept. Note #2 due March 9th was paid. Note #4 due May 9th, $3,000, this renewed on June 8th, $8,470 and when due September 5th, was further reserved for$7,000 balance being paid.
This leaves in our hands at present $17,0000 worth of his note unpaid. We write you this, thinking it may help you to tracing out where the error has occurred in relation to the five hands.
Yours very truly,
W.S. Mallory
