Messrs Pilling & Crane,
Girard Building,
Philadelphia, Pa.
Dear Sirs:-
Owing to the unexpected shut down of operations at the Bricker plant, it will be necessary for us to pay off the men laid off at once, and if you can see your way clear, will be glad if you would send us four months paper for $3,000 to $5,000. We would live very much to have the larger amount and with the ore stored now, we believe you will be amply secured. We, of course, can get along with the lesser amount, if you cannot see your way clear to spend the $5,000.
Kindly let us have this paper, as we want to use it on Tuesday next.
Yours very truly,
W.S. Mallory V.P.
