Mr. Orville Benson
Post Office Box #2
Orange, N.Y.
Dear Sir:-
Replying to yours of the 15th inst., beg to state, first. It is agreeable to us that your title should be "Manager" instead of "Superintendent" and second: It would be agreeable to us to give you a free hand in the employment of assistants and general conduct of affairs at Edison, subject to consultation with us. The writer expects to spend the first week of November at Edison with you, so to help in every way possible to place you squarely at your feet at the start; and as stated in previous letter both Mr. Edison and the writer are at your service at any time to give you any desired to help or advice, based on your past experience.
I would suggest that you come to Orange, say on Tuesday the 20th, so that we may go to Edison on Wednesday the 31st and have Mr. Gay turn over the things to yo at that time.
Yours very truly,
W.S. Mallory V.P.
