Col. John E. Wood,
169 Broadway,
New York City,
Dear Sir:-
Replying to yours of the 26th inst., which I find on my return, beg to state, we have suspended operations at Edison, being unable to sell the ore we had on hand, which we are shipping from day to day as fast as we receive orders. We have about one hundred men employed, and while Mill operations are suspended, we will make some changes, and it will depend largely upon the condition of the iron ore market when we will be able to resume operations. We hope the coming Election will clear up the situation t a large extent, although we are aware that there are very large stocks of iron ore already at the Eastern Furnace, and it will be necessary to use these up before there will be very much market for our product.
Yours very truly,
W.S. Mallory V.P.
