November 13th, 1900 Dear Mr. Mallory:- Your letter of the 12th inst. received this morning. Yesterday, Mr. Edison sent up the following message to be telephoned to Mr. Benson: "Benson-The New Jersey Zinc Company wants Amasa "Search to come down to Franklin Tuesday, to help out 3 high rolls together. Mr. Mallory promised them that Search could come. Edison." I immediately telephoned this message to Mr. Benson and he promised to send Mr. Search to Franklin this morning. Then receipt of your letter this morning, I called Mr. Benson up and read that portion of your letter, referring to instructions to be given Mr. Search, and he said that he would take the matter in hand and immediately, and I have confirmed said quotation from your letter by writing to Mr. Benson this day, Everything is going so smoothly here. In conversation over the phone this morning with Mr. Pilling, he informed the writer that the meeting would not be held until the 22nd inst., as the time was so short between the last meeting and the 15th inst., so thought it best to make it on the 22nd. I am informed Mr. Edison, who had made arrangements to go to Philadelphia on Thursday, and he said next week would suit him as well. Tomorrow, Mr. Edison is to attend the funeral of Mr. Henry Villard. I am glad to learn you have decided to take in Old Point Comfort on your trip, as it is a very restful place, and undoubtedly it will be of great benefit to your wife and yourself. Yesterday I forwarded a letter received from Chica, I think your Father, to your address at Baltimore; doubtless they will forward it to you at Old Point Comfort. Yours very truly, E.A. Jaques Mr. W.S. Mallory, Hygeia Hotel, Old Point Comfort, Va.
