Mr. Thomas Allen,
Edison, N.J.
Dear Sir:-
Yours of the 19th ult., I find on my return here, and I regret to learn that you have decided to resign, but under the circumstances, think it is the thing to do, as when the Works start up again, not being thoroughly prepared for the work in question, it would cause us a great deal of trouble.
I will, no doubt, see you in the near future and can then go into the matter in detail.
Yours very truly,
W.S. Mallory V.P.
