[MB099], Letter from Joshua Franklin Bailey to Charles Batchelor, December 8th, 1883
Editor's Notes
[from London] Will mail you copy of long letter to Eaton on the proposed new company, sent in reply to his long inquiries. Please use it carefully. Enclosed find copy of cable I propose to send. Have mailed Eaton copies of my letters and [?] showing our discussions about fusion. Trying to get German matters fixed up. [something about petty stealing] "My dear fellow if you think the letters I write Rau & Porges give the [whole?] reaon for doing it [fusion] you think me a little cracked no doubt." You'll see the real reasons in my letter to Eaton (don't take that to our office---don't want others to read it.)
