- This evening we lit our shop up with 12 spirals giving each about 22 candles from a Gramme machine running 960 revolutions and taking about 2 horse power. The spirals wer Plat. Iridium 20 pc and were 3/8 long and .080 thick haiving a surface of 3/16 square inch. Resistance of Machine 1 ohm; resistance of each spiral .33 ohms. They were put in Multiple arc thus: [drawing] Total outside resistance .44 ohms total inside mach. 1.44 ohms We find als that we can put reistance in eual to 12 lamps more.
