- In small part toward the end of this lengthy article, TAE mentions that his work prior to arriving in NYC averaged 20 hrs per day, Sundays and holidays (second to last Column) Asked, What do you usually take when you are warn out with work, he answers “A glass of water or a glass of milk,” mentions preference for apple pie, then, almost on cue, “looking up eagerly at Mrs. Edison, who at this moment entered smilingly with their pretty little daughter. Edison’s eager glance seemed to ask, “Is their any pie, my love?” But her pleasant shake of the head and irresponsive blank look gave the doleful reply, “None.”
