- Editor's Notes
- This week has brought nothing very new. The electric light is looking up for we have had some very good lamps. The latest gossip that Mr. Edison has told me, is that there is talk of swallowing the old Electric Light Co in a new one and making the capital three millions of dollars. This new company will be floated by Drexal Morgan & Co. of New York. There is no hope of such a thing until Mr. Edison has given an exhibition. So he is going to try and show some lamps here in the course of a few weeks. I think I shall have some of them in my new house. [rest of letter about new house and Lizzie, but ends:] "The telephone money from England will come in next month, I am going to try for a small bite.
