Title
[MU088], Letter from Thomas Alva Edison to Francis Robbins Upton, January 1886
Editor's Notes
Upton-- How would it do for you to personally learn the lamp business (ie) the Carbonization. You are a scientific man like myself, Batch, etc. It seems to me if I was running the lamp factory that there wouldn't occur any such thing as losing the art, as the financing is rather easy. I suggest you do like the rest of us learn the business thoroughly + not be dependent on others. You are degenerating into a mere business man. Money isn't the only thing in this mind ball of ours."
