Since you left I hav had two conferences with Werner Siemens with the result that he agreed to sen me today or tomorrow a written basis for a compromise with the German Company. I have decided best not to approach the latter until I had this in hand But I shall ask Mr. Rathenau for an appointment immediately upon receiving Mr. Siemens proprosal. ## I shall write or telegraph before you leave paris whatever result may be reached. ## Please let me know whether you have done anything with the compressed [flour man?] I should be glad to interest myself with you in the invention if it proved a practical thing. ## Will you remember about the engagement of two rooms at your hotel for 29 cash and oblige [update tc 3/2012] Since Upton left, Villard has had two conferences with Siemens. Siemens has agreed to provide a "written basis for a compromise with the German Company." Villard will await to approach the German company when he has the letter in hand. Wants to know if Upton has done anything with the compressed flour [?] [unclear].
