- Title
- [MU128], Letter from Samuel Insull to Francis Robbins Upton, July 2nd, 1889
- Editor's Notes
- I wish you would send me the contribution of $8750 in cash, preferred shares and deferred shares, which are to go to Mr. Villard on the lamp deal. You and Lucy E. Upton I believe, hold 5 shares. The total a mount of the subscription in cash and shares will therefore be 1750 x 5 = 8750, divided as follows: Cash $2850; Preferred shares 3700; Deferred shares 2200. These figures are not altogether exact, but they are approximately near enough. As the Company do not make fractional shares, we are compelled to arrange the fractions in the most equitable way possible, and this is the result.
