At this date the trouble is to get an insulation for the platinum wire all the common oxides melt and volatilize at a far lower temperature than the Pt. after the process. Again many of the oxides become conductors at the temperature of incandescent Pt. All the known oxides are to be tried in various vacuums for it is thought that some one may answer the purpose or a hint be given as to a method of preparing the oxides, as Pt. has been prepared.; fr. 848 Pump No. 4 broken repaired and changed, notes on insulated spiral vacuum lamp expts; fr. 849 spirals are now sealed in thus
