- The lamps leak though no crack can be seen in them The glass may be different. Carbon stick put in arm of bridge and heated resistance decreased, "Mr. Edison thinks that pure carbon could increase its resistance on heating. That the cause of ordinary carbon decreasing is that the fine particles make better contact with each other. Trying to mould a stick of .010 inch diameter and to make them into spirals
