Good vacuum to stop small spark in an hour.; silica coated spiral tests, problem with MacCleod gauge; fr. 860 results of 13 Oct "Spiral covered with silica so that there was a thick coating completely hiding the form of the wire. Dead white fluffy. comenced at 5 pm very weak currents" table of results follows, fr. 861 spiral broak at leading wires was briht and seen under microscope to be covered with briht glaze
