- notes on underground conductor resis. "A bucket of tar tried and its resistance found to be extremely high could not easily measure." Fr 490 insulation on Carman's circuit: "all kerite lamp wire, where exposed to earth, are being overlaid with rubber tap ("piping") and served with coal tar, then left exposed to the sun to harden." Recordsd of which lines were cut.
