The direction being reversible as the spindle goes up or down towards the plant" (drawing); pp. 11-17 drawings of non sparking Gramme multiple armatures; p. 19 "On the filiment of Carbon coated with silica etc The thickened ends can be freed from the coating by immersing in an acid Hydrofluric, sulphuric etc, but this need not be originally coated if each one done by hand separately. The increase in the number of candles per hp with a white radiating surface will probably be 10@15 per cent. Make a 1/10 Mf Condenssr parafine in form cylinder & enclose in Vacuum-- also one exactly same capacity outside & see if Vac increases sharpness or cap of condenser
