- notes on 175 folllowed by "Put two regular carbons in platina clamps; then soaked or dipped in coal tar several times, drying slightly after each dip-- Then gave them to Joe to seal in also another carbon in platina clamps dipped several times in liquorice water-- gave to Joe I propose to slowly heat lamp from low heat on drier to about 600 fahr put on pump & bring up slowly so as to carbonize-- The O of the Liquorice will probably oxidize the whole of the carbon if not sufficiently carbonized on drier-- but the [Tri?] will carbonize in vacuum ok I think" followed by 176-185 undated next date is 185 9/16/86
