Act on fils [the following is a list:] Chloride Sulphur in Kerosene etc-- Chloric or Chloro or perchloric acid Nitromuriatic Fuming Nitric Nitro chromic fils in Water & pass chlorine while water 150 Fahr act on Chlorated Balata with Pent Chl Antimony##Take a lot of Crystals or pieces of Hydrocarbons & act on them with Chl Sol in Kerosene-- also by Pent Chl Ant in Chl Ethyl see if become infusible those that do squirt--##Try Everything we have in Room 6. clear away phono--##Fresh Chl Lime Syrian .00t fils in & our Sol Acid over--##Suspend fils in jar & pass Chlorine or fill jar with Chloric & put in fils & expose to Light--##Disolve Sulphur in BiSul Carbon also Syrian. Then evaporate & squirt & eat to sulphurize-- alo same with Iodine, Cold--##Act on Syrian fils by Hydrofluric acid--##Act on Syrian by Hot fused Caustic Potash. Also by Nitrate Silver##Squirt glue fils-- act on by Nitrate Silver, Nitric Acid & oxdzn & Chlntg agts Squirt##Make frame use single fibres silk arange to dip in solution Hard Cubian in Chl Sulphur-- dip & dry several times until proper thickness thoroughly dry after each dipping-- [this probably ends the entry - a series of 9 pages of additional notes from Watts and other books with instructions to assistants follows; then an entry dated 890403]
