- Editor's Notes
- My Dear Sir-I have this day sent to Mr. Herr, copy of my contract with Mr. Edison. I made hint the first pay¬ment to-day and the stock is deposited in trust with the LO Garfield Safe Deposit Company. I also through Mr. Herr made former application for the change in my contract to allow me to handle the Phonograph. Also the extension of my contract to cover the Canadas. I also enclosed four photographs of different views of the Phonograph that is to be taken as the Standard. This machine is to he shipped to me to-morrow,and I have suggested to Mr. Herr that two or three of the members of your board should come over and inspect it, as it requires an expert to run it, and they can then put a private murk on it, and later on, as soon 20 as I can get another one, will place the original machine in your custody. I hope yon will get some such plan as I suggest adopted so as not to make it necessary for me to deliver this machine to you immediately. I am going back to the moun¬tains to-night, and if my boy's condition is favorable I will return here Monday night, ready to receive any persons that may come from your board. Very truly yours, Jesse H. Lippincott
