- "What Is Yellow Fever?: Dr. Gibier Shows that Some Cases in Florida Were of a Distinct Type", New York Herald, January 18th, 1889
- Editor's Notes
- Dr. Gibier explains how some cases of disease that appear to be yellow aren't actually yellow fever. He also addresses the issue of apparently more blacks suffering form yellow fever than whites. He also says that yellow fever is endemic on the seashore of hot countries. It can even survive trips to cold areas and still be contagious when it return to hot areas.
