- It was learned today that TAE lost $250,000 in the phonograph deal. He had given Gilliland powers of attorney and was told to consult Tomlinson. Gilliland announced that the patent had been sold to the North American Phonograph company for $500,000, but TAE found it it was actually $750,000. The two have denied any wrongdoing.
