- Title
- [W100DEBB], Legal Testimony, Thomas Alva Edison, June 21st, 1881
- Editor's Notes
- "I first employed a pump embodying this invention in substance at my laboratory during the fall of 1878, but using water instead of mercury as the exhaust agent. In March or April 1879 I conceived of the idea of using it with mercury as the exhaust agent. I immediately made drawings thereof, disclosed it to others and within a few days had mercury pumps made embodying the issue. Such pumps have been made and used, as occasion required, continuously and to a large extent to present time."
