[X154A4CB], Letter from Edward Hibberd Johnson to Uriah Hunt Painter, March 3rd, 1885
Editor's Notes
[Letterhead of Isolated Co.] Recd yours of Feb 28. Think Evarts fully able to interpret patent law, and he's much cheaper thank Conkling. "I am very sorry that you have committed yourself on the Senate matter. You will as certain as fate lost that contract as you did the other one, and that in spite of your expressed determination not to give figures until the last moment. Here you have gone and given figures before anybody else even thinks of the subject." I was going to help you but you've messed it up. Will prepare letter to Col. Casey re: USELCo.
