- By your last note, been expecting to see you here, but now hear you are in NY and won't be in D.C. till Congress assembles; you and Johnson need to decide if anything is to be done with the phonograph; Bell is in Europe but will return if a satisfactory arrangement is made; Tainter "will leave for some other occupation, unless some arrangement is speedily made"; EHJ says he will come anytime on 48 hours notice; arrange a meeting with him for next week.
