- Editor's Notes
- Don't understand the trouble about the check; Hastings said you made some payments for me; I sent him the receipt you sent me and sent you a check for the advance; asked Hastings to record the payments I made on the receipt I sent and return it to me; he said he will be sent to jail if he does; after I asked he sent my receipts back, one in mutilated and useless condition, and says he wants no further correspondence with me but will see me and explain.###I regret if I've caused you any trouble.###Jones is back; I think he will make a favorable report; send me a price list on the Armington & Sims engine; am in negotiation and can't give a price.
