Lippincott Twenty thousand dollars on acct of payment due 12/18 & 20 & I hereby extend the time on balance for 30 days with the right to ask of JHL a note for 60 days for the balance if I find I can use it & said L agrees to let me have the old Co. after it has assigned all its rights & title of all kinds to the Phonograph & agrees to never manufacture any Phonographs or engage in the business. This is lieu of the other paper or rather a codicil to it. Signed U. H. Painter."
