- Editor's Notes
- [on letterhead of bergmann Electric and Gas Fixture company, Showrooms 79 5th Avenue. Office & Works. 527 to 537 West 34th St. N.Y.] My Dear Painter: I have yours and enclosed check for $10,000, for which accept thanks.##The new building is more than progressing; it is, in fact, about finished. In a week or so, we will commence to put up machinery. Business is getting quite brisk and we have, in fact, more orders on hand than makes us exactly comfortable.##Regarding the 100 perforators, I brought one to General Eckert and he was delighted with it. The first dozen will be delivered next wek and the whole lot within about three weeks.##In regard to the porcelain matter you must be patient awhile longer. I have not dropped it any more than you have, but we do not want to go into the thing without feeling our way very carefully.##I hope we shall have the pleasure of seeing you here during the Centennial. Our stor at #79 Fifth Ave. will afford a spendid view of the parade. I have given the parlor floor to Mr. Villard, and the next floor to Mr. Lanier. The upper floor I will occupy with my friends. There will be plenty of room for ou if you will come. Yours truly, S. Bergmann
